The name   ABANDON was chosen on the basis of the semantic; visual; aural; (Dutch & English as well as French pronunciation) and historical meaning of the word. After the conception (yes it was influenced by concept art) and realization of an idea you’ll have to abandon it... going on to the next without shame or regrets about the previous.  The freedom to experiment.

'La patte'   No styles; no ‘La Patte’ (the painters paw) according to Marcel Duchamp and any technique fitting the individual ideas (but rather not the traditional techniques) and a preference for the new mass-media.
This would also mean the abandonment of some traditions, not so much the artistic traditions however but mainly the traditional social cultural circumstances such as scarcity; museality and art trade.
  Short list of activities

Visually   the word is compact and bold with a nice balance of consonants and vowels using five nicely matching diagrams:

    N O t B A D

French   It can be pronounced natively - with equivalent semantics - in many languages and originally the word derived from French ‘mettre à bandon’ which means: ‘hand down to (the mercy of) someone else’.
